About my experience
First of all, thank you for taking your time to read my experience blog. I will be sharing my journey with you that I have took from October 2022 to February 2023.
Beginning
In the beginning, we were told to select one out of six challenges to work on. I had picked 'What Sustainability looks like in Ngee Ann Polytechnic?' but I was hesitant as I wasn't sure if I am able to answer to that.

My Team
As clueless as I was in the class, I was assigned into a team of 5 members. Justin, Adam, Keanan, Avanti and myself. They seem like the kind of person that is easy to work with, I was able to get along with them.

Assignment 1
We were required to come up with an idea to tackle the challenge statement and come up with a prototype to showcase our solution statement. Our team came up with e-waste and our main objective is to target e-waste. The idea is to make a carousell-like marketplace for all the unwanted e-waste product and let others claim it for free.
Hackathon
My team and I were required to take part in a three-day hackathon event that was hosted by the Overflow CCA from November 14 to November 17 as part of the fifth week of the Portfolio Development (PFD) module. During this time, we were able to devote our full attention to the development of our solution statement. Although it was a full day event that ran every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and free lunches and beverages were supplied throughout the day, it was psychologically and physically exhausting since we were required to work on our project for the whole time of the event.
Despite that, it was a good time and a really unique experience. I get to work and make friends along the way.
Assignment 1 showcase
By the end of assignment 1, we had already came up with something that can help to guide through our solution statement. Comes the judgement day where we present our solution and demo our prototype to the judges for feedback and comments. I am glad that the comment from the judges were positive and provided the team with some interesting insight that helped us realize what are the things that we are required to do for our next assignment.
Assignment 2
Comes assignment 2 after 3 weeks break, our team generated lots of ideas and feedback we gotten from the judges during assignment 1. I have managed to implement many back-end features that deals with the database which help the website to function well.

Assignment 2 showcase
It was alot of team discussion throughout the period on the development and I was thankful that I helped to contribute to the project and the team as a whole. I am happy to showcase our assignment 2 results in which we have presented to the teacher. Glad to say that I have gained enormous experience through this journey in this PFD module.
Challenges
Unfortunately, every project has its own challenges. One of the challenges that my team has faced is the loss of one manpower, Avanti. She wasn't able to contribute throughout the project and had to be on hospitalized leave. However, that did not stop the commitment that my team and I have. We were able to see through this and still develop the same effort as the other team even though we are only team of 4 members. I am happy to say that my team has persevered.
